My husband has had it. “Do you have to take a photo of EVERYTHING??” he snapped at me yesterday. We took our daughter to the pool for the very first time, of COURSE I needed a photo of it!!! Wouldn’t you? I will be the first to admit though that I take a million photos, probably more than I will ever be able to enjoy when I am old and gray. But, the one thing I am is organized. I have a family website on Babyjellybeans.com which I LOVE and our family really enjoys being able to check in on the latest with the kids anytime. I also upload ALL of my ten million photos on to Sumgmug.com. Our family website could never handle ALL of my photos, and is intended to showcase the best ones, so I upload the rest to Smugmug. They have several servers in different locations so if I ever were to lose all of my precious photos due to a computer crash, they could easily hand them all right back to me! I love that peace of mind. I also love that I can add my videos as well, short ones at least, and share those with the grandparents right thru the good old ‘net. The site allows you to add keywords and captions, sort them any way you choose, set up folders to your heart’s content, and even customize each folder and gallery with cool colors and special ocassion graphics. Between the two sites as well as my own CD backup system (one at my house, one out of state!), my photos are safe, no one ever has to ask me to email them pictures of the kids, and I can access them from anywhere, anytime. When I really have to have a printed photo, which is rare, I turn to Shutterfly. With Shutterfly, I can order them online and pick them up at my local Target. I also love their photo books, this is how I display all of my kids’ precious photos at home. Their photo books are extremely customizable, super simple to create, and absolutely beautiful when they arrive!
